Description

Circa 1850. Small single storey and attic 3-bay cottage-style villa with modern rear extension, windows enlarged to bipartite. Cream sandstone, squared and snecked stugged rubble with droved and polished ashlar dressings and angle strips. Incised diamond-pattern motif to band course above ground floor continuing on bargeboards of front elevation; overhanging eaves; ashlar mullions.

E (FRONT) ELEVATION: advanced broad gabled bay to left with bipartite windows to ground floor and gablehead. Entrance door to centre with egg and dart cornice and rectangular 3-pane fanlight, black and white marble vestibule and inner door with etched glass to upper panel and sidelights. Bipartite window to right bay.

W (REAR) ELEVATION: gabled bay to left with large multi-pane patio door and bipartite window in gablehead; single storey flat-roofed rendered extension with bipartite window to centre bay; bipartite window to left bay.

S ELEVATION: 2 small windows to centre bay with central wallhead stack. N ELEVATION: M-gabled with small gablehead stacks.

Multi-pane timber casement windows. Slate roof, metal flashings; 3 stacks (see above); small square timber cupola over hall.

INTERIOR: not seen 1992.

BOUNDARY WALL AND GATEPIERS: tall boundary wall to rear and side with semi-circular coping, low rubble wall to front with saddleback coping, 2 tall tapering gatepiers with curved coping and frieze of incised diamond-pattern motif; cast-iron railings and gates with flower motifs.
