However, for departments and agencies of the UK and Scottish Governments undertaking works to monuments in Scotland there is a parallel system known as Scheduled Monument Clearance. This is governed by the same principles and procedures as the Scheduled Monument Consent processes (Scottish Historic Environment Policy section 3.25).
