Description
Dated 1883. Large Victorian villa of distinctive design.
Two-storey, whin rubble with ashlar dressings and stugged
quoins. East entrance elevation symmetrical 3-bay with
central door in scroll moulded architrave, hoodmould stepped
with date panel, low window of 3 narrow lights over, outer
gables have bipartites with relieving arches ground floor,
straight skews scroll apices, and moulded skew ends. South
elevation symmetrical 4-bay, 2-window centre gable with
tall stack and relieving arches at openings, outer 2-storey
three-light conical roofed bows with continuous slated hoods
below first floor sills. Set back 2-storey one window gable,
and rear wing to left, 2-window with gablet dormerheads
at back. North elevation: 4-window (tall pointed stair
window second from left) with one window gable right and
single-storey gabled rear wing. Slated roof, skews and
corniced ashlar stacks.
Offices. Single-storey and loft, whin rubble with ashlar
dressings. Two garages, door, window and jerkinhead loft door.
Slated roof with rooflights, skews and stack to right.
Greenhouse adjoining to south.
Rubble garden with coping crenellated to south.
