Description
Dated "May 23rd 1788" 2 storey with dormerless attic and
basement. 3-bay symmetrical house with single storey
asymmetrical wings. Painted ashlar front including angle
pilasters; painted rubble to sides and rear. Tripartite
windows to basement with band course over. Pedimented
doorpiece with fluted frieze, architrave and cavetto
splay, approached by steps with plain iron handrail.
Panelled door; tripartite ground floor windows. 2-pane
sashes to 1st floor with lintels linked to eaves band.
Dentilled eaves, cornice with pediment to centre, Oculus
in tympanum. Urn at apex of pediment and to right angle.
Slate roof with straight skews and panelled ashlar end
stacks. Wings similarly detailed with angle pilasters and
dentilled pedimented gable with slate roofs, that at left
retains urn and is set back with tripartite window at
front, door and later canted window to side. Right wing
with blind gable end linked to centre by single storey
bay with bipartite window Slate roof with corniced ashlar
stack. Rear elevation irregular with additions etc. Gable
end of projecting staircase bay at centre of main block.
Interior retains some original features but re-modelled
later 19th century.
