Description
Gavin Paterson 1892 and 1921. Scottish Baronial. 2-
storey, snecked stugged rubble with ashlar dressings on
sloping site. 1892 section 5 bays to Union Street.
Bipartites left, tiled pend with tripartite in
segmentally arched crowstep gabled recess, pedimented
door flanked by bipartites and 3 crowstepped dormer-
head windows over with astragalled upper sashes, 2-light
on right. 1921 section has wide flat arched entrance
(now glazed), left with tall centre light rising into
crowstepped gablet between 2 flanking windows, with
balustraded parapet over; central section 3 ground and
4 first floor windows; right hand section 3-window, tall
stack on left linked with crowstepped gable on right
by balustraded parapet, left hand first floor window
bipartite. Splayed angle with flat arched architraved
doorpiece rising into 3-light corner bay with wheatsheaf
panel at parapet within which rises low drum with
conical roof and ball finial. Flanking 2-window gable to
Auchincampbell Road approximately answering that to
Union Street. 5-window single-storey range with outer
gablets beyond on Auchincampbell Road. Slated roofs,
corniced ashlar stacks.
