Description

Circa 1846. Cruck-framed byre-dwelling now unoccupied. Single

storey, 3-bay. Door at left of right bay, byre originally to

right, dwelling to left. Rubble-built, the east gable

reconstructed to take later stack. 2 pairs of cruck blades

(probably reused and reduced in height) to central bay with

collars.

Internally: chimney at left, later chimney insertion in

former byre, originally with hanging urn; closet in central

bay with clay and straw mix partition; cobbled floor in

entrance lobby; clay floors elsewhere. Corrugated-iron roof

over turf, (formerly thatched roof).
