Description

1843-4 as Newhills Free Church. Rubble-built rectangle canted

gable with 3 gothic windows and bellcote with single-storey

vestry in front with splayed angles, plain wood tracery.

Horseshoe gallery, interior renovated; Unusual plan with

pulpit at gable nearest road.

The building accounts though not the minutes

survive. No architect's name is mentioned. Probably William

Henderson who designed the manse on Inverurie Road (Contracts

Aberdeen Journal July 2 1845) and who provided plans and

specifications for Free Churches gratis.
