Dated 1844 on pump at north west corner. Renovated 1928, Gillespie & Scott, architects. 2-storey, 3-bay manse, with recessed smallsingle storey wing to west. Snecked squared and stugged rubble, with long and short ashlar dressings. Central corniced and panelled door with tall fanlight; sash windows with lying-pane glazing throughout. Straight skews, corniced end stacks and slate roof. Single sash with lying-panes to west wing; pump set in north west wall. Detached rubble-built coachhouse to north built into rubble garden walls has 3 square-headed entrances and slated roof; square ashlar gatepiers to east.

Statement of Special Interest

Session minutes do not give building date, but on 21.11.1844 a session meeting was held "in The Manse" (see SRO CH3/679/1).

Listing can also cover structures not physically attached but which are part of the curtilage of the building, such as boundary walls, gates, gatepiers, ancillary buildings etc. The planning authority is responsible for advising on what is covered by the listing including the curtilage of a listed building. Since 1 October 2015 we have been able to exclude items from a listing. If part of a building is not listed, it will say that it is excluded in the statutory address and in the statement of special interest in the listed building record. The statement will use the word 'excluding' and quote the relevant section of the Historic Environment Scotland Act 2014. Some earlier listed building records may use the word 'excluding', but if the Act is not quoted, the record has not been revised to reflect current legislation.
