Description

Early-mid 18th century. 2-storeys and dormerless attic, east

front of 9-bays with irregularly placed openings at southern

3-bays, other openings grouped 3/3 each with centre door.

Harled, chamfered margins. Chamfered angles at ground floor

at north gable. 2 small single-storey extensions of clay and

bool construction, probably early 19th century, at rear.

Varied glazing. End stacks; graded Banffshire slate roof.

GARAGE: originally store, to north. Mid 19th century, rubble,

tall single storey, 2-bay elevation to road. Slated roof.

Statement of Special Interest

Built of red Stynie stone and formerly known as the Red Corf

House. By 1788 had been converted into dwellings for the

Glenmore (timber) Company. The rear additions shown on map of

1833. Roofed with graded Enzie slates. The garage (former

store) shown on map of 1864 as being part of shipbuilding

yard. It is roofed with Welsh slate.
