Description

Late 18th-early 19th century with substantial later 19th century additions. 2-storey, 3-bay rectangular-plan block with 2-bay block adjoining at angle to outer right. Painted harl with painted ashlar margins and dressings.

SW (MAIN) ELEVATION: original 2-storey, 3-bay symmetrical block with later wooden gabled porch at centre, slate roof; windows symmetrically disposed under eaves at 1st floor, that at centre narrower; 2 cast-iron rooflights symmetrically disposed. Later 19th century addition slightly recessed to right, single storey and attic with narrow gabled bay to corner. 2 windows at ground with gabled dormer breaking eaves at centre; narrow gabled bay to corner, bipartite at ground, round-headed window to gabled dormer breaking eaves over.

NW (GABLE) ELEVATION: broad gable with narrow window at 1st floor right.

SE ELEVATION: window at centre ground, dormerhead window breaking eaves above.

4-pane timber sash and case windows to original house; 4-pane casement with 2-pane top-hopper elsewhere. Grey slate roof with red terracotta ridging; coped harled apex stacks with circular terracotta cans; ashlar coping to skews.

BOUNDARY WALL: low rubble wall with harl-pointing, rising to higher wall with semicircular coping at N end.

However, for listed buildings designated or for listings amended from 1 October 2015, legal exclusions to the listing may apply.

If part of a building is not listed, it will say that it is excluded in the statutory address and in the statement of special interest in the listed building record. The statement will use the word 'excluding' and quote the relevant section of the 1997 Act. Some earlier listed building records may use the word 'excluding', but if the Act is not quoted, the record has not been revised to reflect subsequent legislation.

Listed building consent is required for changes to a listed building which affect its character as a building of special architectural or historic interest. The relevant planning authority is the point of contact for applications for listed building consent.
